FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When is the best time to aerate & overseed?

September/October is the best time to aerate & overseed. The soil temperatures are still warm enough for germination typically until Halloween. As long as the soil temperatures are above 50 degrees, you can expect to see germination and good results. You can check local real-time soil temperatures HERE. Whatever seed doesn't come up in the fall will fill-in in the spring when conditions are right.

Do I need to mark my irrigation system or underground dog fence?

Yes, we need all underground irrigation and dog fencing to be marked prior to our visit. We can't see underground, so if you have anything that you need us to be aware of, please have the area flagged or marked prior to our visit. You can purchase flags from Amazon HERE.

Do I need to water?

While you can wait for mother nature to help, we would recommend following our detailed watering instructions that we provide at the time of service. Watering involves ensuring the seed stays moist for at least 2 weeks, which often entails watering a few times per day. Timers and above ground sprinklers would be recommended to help repair problem areas quickly. If you are unable to water, that's ok too as the seed will come up when we have wet conditions later this fall.
